Key Dates:

  • Orientation Date: All RNs are required to attend the in-person orientation.

    • Thursday, January 22nd: Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, NICU, Operating Room, PACU, and Post Partum RNs

    • Friday, January 23rd: PICU, Pediatrics, CVOR RNs

    • Saturday, January 24th: Case Management RNs

  • Location: Hilton LAX, 5711 W. Century Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90045.

  • Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, skills stations close at 6 PM daily.

  • Transportation Details
Shuttle service from the hotel to the orientation venue will be available between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. If you arrive outside of these hours, you're welcome to take an Uber or taxi to the Hilton LAX (please note these rides will not be reimbursed).

Once your orientation is complete and you’ve signed out with a GQR representative, you’ll be responsible for your return transportation. GQR will reimburse your ride back to the hotel.

  • All RNs are required to attend in-person orientation. No exceptions.

If you're traveling from outside the area, plan to arrive in Los Angeles the day before orientation.

Orientation is expected to take at least 6 hours. Please plan to stay for the full process.

Your timesheet must be submitted at the end of orientation to be paid. You are allotted 8 hours to complete your module. Anything outside of that, will not be paid.

  • Once your offer is accepted and your travel intake form is submitted, GQR will book your flight and hotel.

If you need lodging, you’ll stay at a central LAX hotel through January 25. After orientation, GQR will provide transportation to your assignment-area hotel. Final hotel details will be sent within 72 hours — if not received, please contact kaisertravel@gqr.com.

If your assignment is outside LA (e.g., San Diego), you’ll still attend orientation at LAX, then be transported to your assignment location afterward.

    Driving Instead of Flying?

You must still complete the travel intake form. Mileage will be reimbursed per IRS guidelines.

  • To ensure a seamless start to your assignment, GQR has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to provide a structured orientation process. As part of onboarding, you’ll be assigned specific training modules in HealthStream, based on your role.

A how-to guide is included in your onboarding email with step-by-step instructions for accessing and completing your HealthStream courses.

  • To ensure you're paid accurately and on time, there are a few important steps to complete before orientation:

Assignment Overview

Orientation is complete—and now your assignment is officially beginning. As you transition into your first shift, GQR is here to make sure you’re fully supported and ready to succeed from Day 1. Please review the following details carefully to ensure a smooth start.

Assignment Start Date: Monday, January 26th, 2026 | Shift Times: 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM

Day 1 Arrival: All clinicians are required to arrive 1 hour prior to their scheduled shift on Day 1 (for both day and night shifts) to allow time for check-in and final coordination.

Your commitment and professionalism are essential to the success of this assignment, and we’re proud to support you every step of the way. If you have questions or need support, your GQR team is here to help.

Things to Know

  • Daily transportation will be arranged between your assigned hotel and the facility for both day and night shifts.

    • Bus departure schedules will be provided in advance.

    • Please be in the hotel lobby by the designated meeting time each day.

    • Punctuality is critical—missing transportation may impact your ability to report for your shift and affect your assignment status.

    • Minimum required hours: 60

    • Preferred/optional hours: Up to 72

    • Uniform: Navy blue scrubs

    • Standards: Please maintain good personal hygiene and present yourself in a clean, professional manner at all times while on assignment.

Payroll & Timesheet Guide

To ensure you're paid accurately and on time during your strike assignment, GQR uses two platforms: Paylocity for payroll and Bullhorn Time & Expense for submitting hours. All clinicians are required to register for both systems prior to orientation and to submit time daily after each shift.

You'll log orientation hours separately from your regular working hours, and payments are processed daily as long as time is submitted correctly. For support, our team is here to help you every step of the way—from account setup to troubleshooting and approvals.
